How it Works

Bag Vault Storage

Let us do the heavy lifting for you!  Storing your bags with us couldn’t be easier, here’s how our process works:

Book your slot

As a brand new customer you will either book online or handover your bags in person at the heliport. (We only cover Scotia, Bristows and Babcock at the moment, however we fully intend to extend the service to NHV as soon as possible, NHV passengers are of course welcome to use our service by utilizing one of the other heliports).

Drop off your bags

A member of our team will be on hand to collect your bag from you, we recommend having your own padlock to secure your bag but if not we can provide one which will be connected by you and you will keep the keys.

We will take your details and fill out a white tag with your name, date we received the bag and your unique number. If you know when you will be returning, we will also put this date on the tag along with a contact number and email address.

Rest easy

Your bags will be stored in our secure facility for the duration of your leave.

Collect your bags and pay

When it’s time for you to collect them simply get in touch with us via whatsapp/text, email or phone and they will be stacked in the outgoing area, retagged with a yellow tag (find out what happens to the white tag here) (click through to prize draw page) and delivered to your hotel or to you at the heliport on the morning of departure.

If booked in person, we will take payment at this point.

If you are leaving a bag with us for when you go onshore we will collect this and take it back to the storage facility.

Once you know what day you are returning onshore, simply let us know and we will have your travel bag ready for collection. At this point you may elect to leave your work bags with us and the process starts again!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bag Vault?

Bag Vault provides an affordable service to enable professionals from out of the local area to store their luggage safely and securely while they return home.

Why use Bag Vault?

We are as yet the only company who provide this service for this price, but that doesn’t mean we will rest on our laurels due to lack of competition. It’s our aim to make leaving and collecting your bag as simple and convenient as possible, to the point where people actually choose to take a bag back onshore with them because it’s that easy! If you choose to use our service you will find one of our drivers at Bristow’s, CHC Scotia and Babcock Heliports, ready to collect or drop off your bags. You will benefit from our personal support throughout the booking and tailored insurance cover for your luggage against Theft, Accidental and Criminal Damage provided by GUARDHOG.

How do I book?

You can book online before you land, which will save you filling out your details when you land. Alternatively, you can book in with our driver when you get back onshore by filling out your bag label with your name, expected return date and contact details. If you don’t have a padlock one will be provided, you will keep the keys and go on your merry way!

How will I know my booking has been made?

If you book online you will receive a confirmation email with your booking details within, if you book with the driver you will then receive an email confirmation later that evening. You may wish to create an account on our website, if so you can see all your past and upcoming bookings and also print off receipts in case you want to claim expenses.

How much does this service cost?

We charge £1 per day for every night your luggage is with us, which is capped at a maximum of 20 nights up to 2 months. After 2 months we will get in touch and find out if you want to rebook your bag in or have it collected. If we can’t get hold of you, we will keep it for a further month and if you still aren’t reachable your bag will be disposed of.

There is an additional £1 added to every booking that covers the tailored insurance cover for your luggage against Theft, Accidental and Criminal Damage provided by GUARDHOG.

So for instance, if you book in 2 bags with us for 14 nights you will pay £14 for the first bag, £7 for the second and an extra £1 for insurance. Alternatively, you may take the next trip off – in this case for the 2 bags for 42 nights you would be charged £20 for the first bag, £10 for the second and an extra £1 for insurance. So you are safe in the knowledge that even if you miss a trip you will not be charged a fortune!

How do I get my bags back?

You will have provided us with a rough estimate of your return date, but we all know this can change! The day before the expected return date we will send an email reminder to find out if this is still the case. You have a few options here. You can ring our driver direct, email our bookings email ( or login to your account and update it there. Once we know where you will be your bags will be waiting for you at the heliport. We can even get them dropped off to your hotel the night before you check in.

How do I pay?

If you want the bags delivered to your hotel you will need to pay online or over the phone before drop off, or pay our driver at the hotel.

If you just want to collect them at the heliport, then our driver will take payment via CASH, contactless or card when you collect your bag. You can of course pay online or over the phone prior to this if you wish.

How will my luggage be kept safe?

Your luggage will be stored in our secure facility with 24 hour cctv coverage. When we take your luggage from you if it is not padlocked already we will provide one for you. It will be attached in front of you and you will take the keys with you. We strongly recommend you use your own padlock for your own peace of mind. For further peace of mind, we have partnered with GUARDHOG to provide a tailored insurance product for your luggage for the duration of its time with us.

Is there a size or weight limit?

As the vast majority of our customers will be leaving their luggage after getting off a helicopter flight we don’t expect to be storing massive suitcases. These requests will be handled on a case by case basis. If you want to remove items from one of your holdalls and fill the one you are storing to the brim then by all means do so.

Can I collect only 1 bag if I have booked in 2?

If you book 2 bags in you must collect both bags at the same time. If for some reason you only want 1 of them, you can rebook this bag back in as a new booking.

Can someone else collect my luggage.

We would ask you to make every effort to collect your own bag, however if you live on the other side of the country and have stopped working in the area then you may wish a former colleague or friend to collect your bag while they are in the area. We will assess these situations as they arise.

What can I leave in the return bag?

You may have noticed there is the option to store a bag while you are offshore. You can only do this when you book a normal bag in previously. We created this option as we thought it may be convenient to leave a carry out or a good change of clothes for the journey home to save you stopping at the off licence on your way to the train station. You obviously CANNOT leave drugs, weapons or other contraband in this bag – our facilities and vehicles can be searched at any time by the authorities and your bag will be sitting there with your details on it if they do!
